LGBTQ+ Caucus

The LGBTQ+ Caucus aims to educate members of the student body and community about Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender rights. It also works to encourage more members of the LGBTQ+ community to become involved in the political process. The LGBTQ+ caucus focuses on a wide variety of issues, but centers around eliminating the hate and ignorance toward the LGBTQ+ community. In the past, the caucus has brought in members of the transgender community to talk about their personal struggles and experiences. UFCD and the LGBTQ+ Caucus frequently call elected officials and work to put candidates in office who firmly believe in equality for all, no matter who you love or how you identify.

I am a first-year history major who is a passionate member of the LGBTQ+ community. I am honored to be able to work as a representative of the community here at UF. I hope that we can work to improve the quality of life for LGBTQ+ Gators on campus. Go Gators!

I am a first-year political science major with a second major TBA! I am really passionate about  politics and film. I’m excited to be the new co-chair of the LGBTQ+ caucus this semester and hope to learn more about the subject and raise awareness, especially in issues relating to transgender rights and the current state of the fight for LGBTQ+ equality in America. I'd really like to focus on mental health and intersectional activism.
